I got a new knife. A big, shiny, sharp new one. All metal. And shiny. And I needed to try it out. So I thought I’d get some steak and cut it up good.

Cheese ‘n’ Chicken Pancakes
Back in the day, I mean way back, I was a kid. Yes I was 12. And so it was at that ripe young age that I created my first proper culinary creation. Cheese ‘n’ Chicken Pancakes. I don’t remember the details but I do remember Ma in the background, making sure I didn’t ruin her pots and pans.

…it was commented that the US produces many beverages superior to Budweiser. Samuel Adams was suggested. So was PBR. Amazingly I found some Sam Adams in a corner of the local supermarket here in the UK. So I thought I’d put it to the test against the old enemy – Russia!
Mixing Up the Seasons with PowerPoint
Winter is almost done in Southern England. We do love to make a drama out of a non-crisis. So the recent snow caused all kinds of ‘impending doom’ warnings, sadly none of which came to pass.
However I did take the opportunity to take some photos of our little place before and after some snow. And then got busy with PowerPoint to create some integrated shots:

You see a lot of recipes on WordPress that don’t contain ingredients you would usually expect to see (eg Meatless Roast Chicken or Gluten-free, Lactose-free, Everything-free. I also like the ‘Paleo’ thing – its grains free, right?)
Anyway I was going to make Banoffee Pie. I bought the ingredients – cream, biscuits, chocolate, bananas. Then I forgot about it and the cream went off and bananas went black.
So I went out and bought some more cream and bananas. And forgot about it again. The bananas went black again but the cream was okay. To stop the cycle of banana abuse I decided to employ the kids in preparing something with the remaining ingredients, so we got busy and made something up:
